Post / Position : Engineers / Officers from various disciplines
including Fire Engg., Boiler Operations (BOEs) .
Eligibility : The prescribed qualifications with minimum
65% marks in respect of Engineering disciplines and 60%
in respect of HR discipline for GEN/OBC candidates and
pass class for SC/ST/PH candidates in concerned qualifying
Degree examination (Full Time Regular Course), from recognized
Indian University / Institute. For BOEs. the requirement
of minimum 65% marks in qualifying Engineering Degree Examination
is not applicable. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology
(Chemical [including Petrochemicals], Mechanical [excluding
Production/Industrial Engg.], Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation,
Metallurgy, Computer Science / Information Technology)
and Fire Engg.
Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE)Bachelor's Degree in Engg./Technology
in Electrical or Mechanical with Boiler Operation Engineer's
Certificate (1st Class proficiency) and minimum 2 years
post BOE experience in the operation of large size Thermal
Power Plant having a Coal/Oil/Gas fuelled Boiler (requirement
of minimum 65% marks in the Engineering degree examination
is not applicable). Period of experience relaxed to ONE
Year for SC/ST candidates.
Age limit : Not exceeding 26 years for Engineers/GAEs/Management
Graduates(HR) and 28 years for BOEs as on 30th June 2007
(relaxation in upper age limit by 5 years for SC/ST/EXSM,
3 years for OBC & 10 years for Physically Challenged
persons).
Health : The candidate should be in good physical & mental
state and shall meet the laid down standards for medical
fitness to perform duties in Refineries, Pipelines & Marketing
Division of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The candidates
with diseases including but not limited to, Myopia & Hypermetropioa
exceeding + - 4.00, ischemic heart disease, cardiac vascular
diseases, cirrhosis and chronic liver disease, renal failure,
diabetes, mellitus with target organ damage, seizure disorder,
major psychiatric disease, drug abuse and malignancy shall
be disqualified. Color blindness is a disqualification
for Engineers and BOEs..
Selection process : The selection methodology will comprise
- Written Test (objective type consisting of two parts
- General Aptitude and Discipline Knowledge), Group Discussion
/ Group Task and Personal Interview for assessment of different
facets of Knowledge, Skill, Attitude and Aptitude. Candidates
will have to pass through each stage of selection process
successfully before being adjudged as suitable for final
selection. Candidates applying for BOE discipline, will
not be required to appear in the written test.
Pay package : Candidates selected as Engineers / Officers
will get a Base Pay of Rs.20424/- p.m. (Basic Pay Rs.12000/-
plus DA Rs.8424/-) in the scale of pay of Rs.12000-17500/-
and will initially undergo training for a specified period
before placement. Besides Basic Pay and industrial pattern
of DA, the other allowances / benefits include HRA / subsidized
housing accommodation (depending upon place of posting),
Medical Facilities, Productivity Linked Incentive, Gratuity,
Contributory Provident Fund, Employees Pension Scheme,
Group Savings Linked Double Accident Insurance, Leave Encashment,
Leave Travel Concession, Contributory Superannuation Benefit
Fund Scheme, House Building Advance, Conveyance Advance
/ Maintenance Reimbursement, Professional Updation Allowance,
Lap-Top PC, Children's Education Allowance etc. as per
rules. The Cost-to-Company will be around Rs.5.65 lakhs
p.a.
Candidates selected as Graduate Apprentice Engineers (GAEs)
for one-year apprenticeship training will be paid consolidated
stipend @ Rs.20,000/- per month. Upon successful completion
of apprenticeship training, they may be appointed as Engineers
in the scale of pay referred above. Selected candidates
shall have all-India transfer liability and may be posted
to any Division / Unit / Subsidiary Company / Office of
the Corporation. They will have to execute a bond of Rs.One
Lakh (Rs.25000/- for SC/ST/OBC & PH candidates) to
serve the Corporation for a minimum period of three years
from the date of joining (date of appointment as Engineer
in case of GAEs after successful completion of training).
